Eagle release at Starved Rock State Park

I was at the Starved Rock Lodge today, taping a TV commercial for the Heritage Corridor.  What a beautiful location for taping this spot.

While there I ran into Kathy Casstevens  of the Starved Rock Lodge who told us us about an injured eagle that was recently released along the shores of the Illinois River at the Starved Rock State Park.

Kathy took some video of the release and talked to Karen and Steve Herdklotz of "Hoo" Haven of Durand, IL who did the rehab work on this bird.  As you'll see in this video, the eagle is now fine.

This was the 38th eagle that the Herdklotz's released back to nature.
