Silver Carp shot by bowhunter near Brandon Locks
Chuck White witha silver carp that he shot while bowfishing in the DesPlaines River near the Brandon Locks

Just got word from Ed DeVries, President of the Bowfishing Association of Illinois that BAI Director Chuck White shot the first silver carp on the DesPlaines River by the Brandon Locks.

DeVries beleives that this is also the first silver carp found in this area.   The BAI has shot many bighead carp in this part of the reiver but this is the first silver.

DeVries is forwarding the info and photo to the IL DNR.

FYI, looking at a map, it's my guess that this silver carp was captured several miles from the electronic barrier that crosses the river by Romeoville.
