A message from Walleyes Unlimited

Walleyes Unlimited USA will host two meetings in May and the following is information about their meeting and speakers.

May 9th - Wisconsin - Club Members - John Nuebel, Al Ruffalo & Gene Schmidt Lure Making - From Lead to Plastic

The meeting will begin with John sharing his expertise on the aspects of lead pouring, what it entails and some of the do's & don'ts. John will also have what tools and supplies you will need to get started pouring weights and the components needed to make them.

Gene Schmidt master jig & spinner bait designer will demonstrate how to make some interesting tackle products like spinner baits for musky & bass.

Finally long time club member and master tackle designer Al Ruffalo will open up his bag of tricks for us. On
this night Al will be focusing on how he makes soft plastics and some of his techniques for coloring his lead.

This will be a night when some of the really neat educational & sharing aspects of our club will be opened up to our members. You will want to get there early and get a seat up front so you can watch the masters at work.

May 30th - Illinois - John Mannerino - Walleyes on the Mississippi - Pool 14

Captain John “Rocky” Mannerino is fully licensed and insured through the State of Illinois and the U. S. Coast Guard. John specializes in walleye and sauger fishing on Heidecke, the Illinois River and the Mississippi  River.

After spending 15 years as a tournament walleye angler on all types of water, John decided to switch gears and start teaching the art of walleye and sauger fishing in the Chicago-land area. He realized that there is good fishing close to home without having to make long trips out of town. I have also found personal enjoyment teaching
others how to fish walleye and sauger in rivers all year long.

John's presentation will be focused on fishing in a pool that is close to home and not many of us fish, pool 14. He will discuss this section of the Mississippi  river in different conditions.
