There's a gun for everyone

I attended the 2012 SHOT Show in Las Vegas last week.   This is the largest trade show of its kind for the shooting industry.  This is the 34rd annual SHOT Show. The first SHOT Show was in 1979 in St. Louis, Mo.

Here are some stats from this year's show...

Total Attendance: 57,390
Exhibitors: 1,600
Attendees: 31,769
Exhibit space: 630,000 net square feet
Media: 2,074

The SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show) is open for buyers and the media only.  The public is not allowed.

I have to say I have never seen so many weapons under one roof.   It was amazing. There is a gun for everyone here.   I checked out some weapons that went from very affordable to others costing over a quarter of a million dollars.  Shotguns, pistols, rifles, semi-automatics, and derringers just name a few.

Also on the show floor was every kind of camo clothing you can imagine.  Boots, knives, holsters, ammunition, targets, blinds, decoys, ATVs and so much more can be seen at this show.

While at the show I took a handful of photos to give you a taste of what I got to see.

I have to say that for those who feel that firearms and the shooting sports is not right, well, you might stand outside of this show some day to see just how popular firearms are in this country.   Anti-gun people seem to be very few when you see the crowd of people in this show.

This show boasts 5 floors of exhibitors and meeting rooms.  For a  4 day show, it's impossible to see everything.  I loved it.

  • The expo looks like me local bass pro without the extremely high price tags on some of the items. Did any new hunting innovation stand out to you?
