Illinois Outdoors TV reviews GM Terrain SUV as tow vehicle

Illinois Outdoors TV often reviews products and brings them to the viewers in the Illinois Outdoors Featured Product segment within the show.

During the taping of the Northwoods Muskie show, I was able to show the viewer a little about the new GMC Terrain SUV.

I drove this vehicle with boat in tow from my south suburban home to Boulder Junction.  Towing my 17 ft. Crestliner I was able to pretty good gas mileage, average about 15.5 miles per gallon.   The ride is smooth and the vehicle has plenty of power when accelerating and while underway.  I often never felt that there was a trailer behind me.  Having all-wheel drive, the GMC Terrain worked well in backing a trailer down a boat ramp and pulling the boat out even on steep gravel ramps.

The interior is roomy and comfortable.  There is plenty of room for gear when taking fishing or hunting trips.  And with having fold down seats, even more room is available.

The vehicle that I was able to use had a navigation system, back up camera, sonar, XM radio, twin DVD video screens behind the driver and front passenger seats and On Star assistance.  Everything on the dash is clearly visible and within easy reach.  It had power seats, windows, rear hatch, and sunroof.

I’ve found the GMC Terrain to comfortable, stylish, and a great choice as a tow vehicle and family car.
