Central Missouri a great vacation destination

Here are more upcoming summer events in Central Missouri....

Hit the Water for the Lake's Largest Boating Party - AquaPalooza
Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. -It doesn't matter how you attend AquaPalooza on July 16 at Dog Days Bar & Grill in Osage Beach. You can use a boat, raft, kayak, paddleboard or even a child's flotation device, but whatever you do, don't miss being a part of one of the largest parties on land or water at Central Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks.AquaPalooza rocks the Lake at Dog Days Bar & Grill (1232 Jeffries Road or at mile marker 19 by water) from noon to 5 p.m. and is free to the public. The event was created by Sea Ray Boats and is organized locally by MarineMax Missouri

Kids Have Fun at AquaPalooza
AquaPalooza is a fun-filled day for the entire family.

AquaPalooza is the name given to a series of on-the-water celebrations held during July at more than 100 locations around the world. Each event
features fun activities for families and friends of all ages, such as live entertainment, games, giveaways and much more.

New to AquaPalooza this year is the "Win a Sea Ray Dice Roll" contest. Ten people will be chosen from entries and will roll the dice for a chance to win a 2011 Sea Ray 205 Sport boat, valued at $49,000. To be eligible for the roll, participants 18 years and older can register online at the MarineMax Missouri Facebook page or in person at the MarineMax Osage Beach store.

It's not a real party (marine or otherwise) without live music, and this year the AquaPalooza organizers are bringing four musical acts into Dog Days to amp up the entertainment factor.

Country music star Matt Stillwell will perform at this year's AquaPalooza on July 16.

"We start off with a brand of blues and hard rock music by Green Sugar at 1 p.m." said event organizer Teresa Riley. "Green Sugar will be followed by the multi-talented artist Nic Cowan. Country singer Matt Stillwell, known on the Billboard Magazine country charts for such hits as 'Shine' and 'Sweet Sun Angel,' is third on the bill. Fan-favorites Edge of Forever, one of the finest Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute bands in the world, rounds out the show and plays to the 'Freebird' in everyone in attendance."

AquaPalooza is one of the most popular summer events at the Lake of the Ozarks.

If you want a good view of this can't-miss show, get there ahead of time because the term "wildly popular" is an understatement when describing the event. In 2010, AquaPalooza at Osage Beach drew approximately 1,500 boats and 10,000 guests. Worldwide, AquaPalooza broke its own attendance records in 2010 with an amazing total of roughly 15,600 boats and 90,000 people.
