From the Tinley Park Fishing and Outdoor Show...
"On February 12 and 13, 2011, Tinley Park Fishing and Outdoor Show manager Rich Komar will be able to say that the show is now 18 years old and still growing.
It's amazing that this once called "small show" is now one of the largest in the Chicagoland area.
Besides having show visitors who enjoy the outdoors, the Tinley Show, as it is often called, can attribute much of its success to major sponsors like the Cabela's store in Hammond, Indiana.
"Last year with the help of the Hammond Cabela's store, our show made another major step, growing to be the best outdoor show", Komar said. "We were so honored to have them become a major sponsor and I truly believe that it helped us grow even more."
Cabela's also sponsored the "Outdoor Kid of the Year" competition last year which was a success from the very beginning. The outdoors industry needs to get kids involved and Cabela's was glad to help.
Show sponsors help keep costs down for this annual fundraiser for the school's athletic department.
"We make the show affordable for the whole family to attend." Komar said proudly. "With economic times being what they are today; we don't need to have our show visitors running out of money before they get in the door."
This is an affordable show where Mom, Dad, and the kids can take advantage of the sale prices of fishing tackle and so many other items on display at the show. They can even save on vacation specials and guided and charter fishing trip.
Admission to the show is $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors, and $3.00 for kids 7 to 13. Little anglers age 6 and under still get into the show for free. Held at the Tinley Park High School, this show offers over nearly 100,000 square feet of exhibitor space and has ample free parking. This means that there is plenty to see and do just for the price of admission.
Exhibitors from several states come to this show to sell just about everything made for fishing and outdoor fun. There are many vacation resorts represented from Canada up north to Kentucky down south. Charter fishing trips can be booked for the Great Lakes in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio.
Fishing clubs will be at the show again in 2011 and numerous guide services will offer fishing trips for crappie, bass, walleye and muskie. This will be your chance to compare then book a trip of a lifetime.
As all outdoor shows offer, there will be fishing seminars and demonstrations. This year anglers can sit in on seminars for catfish, crappie, walleye, bass, and other species caught close to home.
On the demo stage you'll see demonstrations on pointing dog demonstrations, reptiles and birds of prey. As usual there will be a raffle where you can win a boat, motor and trailer or one of many other great prizes.
The Tinley Park High School athletic department puts together what is now known as one of the largest outdoor shows in the greater Chicagoland area. The Tinley Park Fishing and Outdoor Show supports all of the student athletes at the Tinley Park High School. This will be the 18th year for the Tinley Park Fishing Show making it a true sign of success.
On Saturday and Sunday, February 12 & 13, 2011, the 18th Annual Tinley Park Fishing and Outdoor Show will open its doors to literally thousands of show visitors.
