"Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan streams are super low and clear which has made fishing very tough on most days. Basically if it isn't cloudy you need to fish the first and last hour of light.
Hopefully rain this week will amount to something other than damp grass and some of the steelhead that slid in from the lake a few weeks ago will shuffle around. These creeks and rivers are definitely due for a slug of fresh fish....this has easily been the most difficult fall I've ever experienced for steelhead fishing and I think most anglers in this area share that sentiment with me.
On the bright side my wife shot her first buck last Saturday on the Indiana firearm opener...definitely the highlight of my fall so far!"
