This just came over to me. It's a great opportunity for the kids.
The North Aurora Days Fishing Derby is being resurrected and the focus will be on the kids.
The Kids Fishing Derby will be held at the Chesterfield Lake, south of Route 56 off of Pine Creek Drive in the Chesterfield Subdivision on Saturday August 7th from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. Trophies will be awarded following the derby.
Registration is open to all children age 15 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration at the event is $5.00 per child.
Check in will begin at 6:30 am at the overlook parking area to the Lake.
Fishing guide and outdoors educator Mike Norris will conduct a mini seminar at 7:00 am and work with the kids in increasing their catch.
