What a great week I had in Boulder Junction Wisconsin. It was great to return to the Wildcat Lodge and fish WIldcat, Big and Little Kitten Lakes.
These are Class A Muskie waters. Although I got smacked by one, I never got it to the boat. Jeff Novak and his son Joe also fished the lakes. Joe boated two muskies while I fished with them. A third got away right at the net.
Wildcat Lodge is on County M just north of Boulder Junction. The food is great. We stayed on the modified American plan. I'll post on that later with lots of photos.
Fishing was really good. For us we mostly fished for bass. After I left, Jeff and Joe did well on walleye. They fished, as I did, with Todd Gessner of Todd Gessner Outdoors who guides out of Wildcat Lodge during the summer months.
I even got to fish some out of my new Hobie Pro Angler, a 14 ft. fishing kayak. Got my biggest largemouth right out in front of the lodge. My wife Judy was able to get a few photos of the fish for me.
Cabins are very clean, modern and have all that you would need if you like to do your own cooking. But what kind of vacation would it be if someone has to cook and clean? I say enjoy the excellant meals that they serve at the lodge.
There are plenty of docks for boats, electrical hook ups, a good launch just a minute down the road, The lodge has a game room, shuffle board, a tennis court, and wireless internet access for those who may need it while on vacation. There are boats and motors available is you need one.
I love this resort and give it 5 stars. Can't wait to go back.
Check out the slide show. Pictures are worth a thousand words. If they don't convince you that this is a great spring, summer and fall vacation destination, you need to take up golf. Oh yeah, they have golf courses nearby. Not all guests at the resort fish.
Check out their website at http://www.wildcatlodge.net or give them a call at 715 385 2421.
The lodge is about 6 hours north of Chicago taking Rt. 51 through Minocqua to County M. Guess that makes great fishing not that far away.
Oh that dog in the photos... that's Cooper, Todds pup. See the YouTube post later on on Cooper playing Dock Dogs.
