Kurita saw a big bass swimming near a piling and tossed his bait toward it. It was only moments before the monster bass took the bait. The three minute fight may have seemed like forever, but it was not as long as it took to get the fish in the record books.

Don Dziedzina of Illinois Outdoors Inc., has been involved in the outdoors industry for over 40 years. His outdoor writing dates back over 25 years. Don has written columns for numerous outdoor magazines and many local newspapers. For a couple years he wrote outdoor columns for the Chicago Tribune in the Sports section. Today, his columns are published in the TribLocal which is part of the Chicago Tribune. Over 15 years ago Don began producing and hosting the Illinois Outdoors TV show. It airs now on Comcast, Insight, and MediaCom Cable having a reach of nearly 7 million viewers. About 6 years ago he was asked by Jim DaRosa to join the staff of the Fishing and Outdoor Radio Show. Since then Jim, Ray Ludkevicz and Don co-host the show that airs every week, simulcast on WCSJ AM 1550, WCSJ FM 103.1, WSPY FM 107.1, WSPY AM 1480, and WSQR AM 1180. On Don's TV show he always says, “Great Fishing (or hunting) is not that far away.” On the radio show they say “We fish, we hunt, we live the outdoors.” These are true statements as Don, Jim and Ray all fish and hunt. They all own boats. They are sportsmen who do what they write about, talk about on the radio, and do in front of a TV camera. Don wants to hear from you when you have a question.
