Christmas came early for anyone who witnessed a stunning, slender and excited Jennifer Hudson made her way down the red carpet last night at the House of Blues.
Michigan Avenue Magazine celebrated Hudson’s second appearance on its cover with an invitation-only affair: “A Hudson Holiday.” The event featured the Chicago native who wow’ed the crowd in a tight and sparkling dress. With cameras rolling and reporters buzzing, fans were in awe of their idol.
The evening began as Dan Uslan, President of Michigan Avenue Magazine, and JP Anderson, Editor-in Chief, welcomed the full house. The magazine gurus later presented Hudson and her sister Julia with a $10,000 check to support their Julian D. King Gift foundation.
The foundation, established as a tribute to Hudson’s late nephew, helps provide children with stability and support in hopes of it translating into a productive and positive adult life.
The Voice’s Jamar Rogers opened the show with catchy lyrics of his new single, “High.” Hudson finally graced the stage and did what she does best: entertain. Among other songs, the Academy, Grammy, and Golden Globe award-winner belted out Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and did just that as she invited several audience members onstage to rock the night away.
Jennifer Hudson once again proved she's as unique, fierce, and powerful as her sky-high Charlotte Olympia heels.
