WAT-AAH! Free Art Exhibit This Weekend In West Loop

From July 19-20, WAT-AAH!, one of the fastest-growing bottled water brands geared to kids and teens, will be calling Chicago’s West Loop home as they open a weekend-long free art exhibition at Moonlight Studios (1446 W. Kinzie St.). Launched as a way to encourage everyone to drink more water this summer, the exhibit is an extension of the ongoing WAT-AAH! Taking Back the Streets traveling art campaign.

Featuring work by some of the nation’s preeminent street artists including POSE, Hebru Brantley, Kenny Scharf, Shepard Fairey, Swoon, Lady Aiko, Eric Haze, Maya Hayuk, and others, the WAT-AAH! Taking Back the Streets art exhibit will invite guests to look at a variety of original artwork and WAT-AAH! bottles created with custom-designed labels. The exhibition’s opening kicks off Friday, July 18th with a special private, preview event.  On Saturday, July 19th and Sunday, July 20th the exhibition is free and open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7p.m.

The WAT-AAH! exhibition at Moonlight Studios marks the culmination of the Chicago leg of the WAT-AAH! Taking Back the Streets initiative. Earlier in the month, WAT-AAH! unveiled an eye-catching #WATAAHWALL mural in Chicago’s West Loop, which was created by street artist POSE and five art students chosen by the University of Chicago’s Arts Incubator Design Apprenticeship Program (DAP).  The 75’ by 15’ mural can be found at the intersection of Lake and Racine.

The Chicago WAT-AAH! Taking Back the Streets art exhibition is a continuation of the company’s groundbreaking national art campaign that connects today’s leading street artists with the brand’s mission to fight childhood obesity and promote healthy hydration among kids and teens. The campaign launched February 20th in support of the Partnership for a Healthier America’s (PHA) “Drink Up” initiative, which encourages everyone to drink more water more often.  PHA’s honorary chair, First Lady Michelle Obama, attended the launch and was the first to preview the WAT-AAH! Taking Back the Streets exhibit with a private tour by WAT-AAH!’s CEO and Founder, Rose Cameron.

Since 2008, WAT-AAH!’s mission has been to make water undeniably cool and desirable among kids and teens. With its iconic logo design, a boy screaming “Drink WAT-AAH!,” the brand has successfully competed against sodas and sugary drinks for kids’ attention and is leading them to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle.  WAT-AAH! has been successful in the marketplace and has been identified as "one of the fastest growing brands” in the beverage industry, ranking among the top 10 in its category and many kids have dubbed it as “the coolest water ever.” WAT-AAH! continues to reach millions of kids and teens through schools and many other forms of distribution.
