I've been singing the praises of Cider Summit since 2013 when the event was introduced to Chicago. With 47 cideries pouring 3-5 ciders a piece, you really can't go wrong. Nevertheless, people out there are always talking down to cider.
"Ciders are too sweet" - Wrong! There are a ton of dry ciders available.
"Ciders are boring" - Get outta here! Ciders are getting dry-hopped and barrel-aged these days.
"Ciders all tastes the same" - Nope! There are dozens of cider apples and they all bring varying levels of acid, sugar and tannins to the mix just like grapes do with wine.
We're in the Midwest folks. Cider is in our blood. Orchards, doughnuts, and cider go together like bears, beets and Battlestar Galactica. So get your asses out there and support your local cidery on February 22nd. Find the details below.
