Oberon Cake at Stout Barrel House and Galley

Oberon Cake at Stout Barrel House and Galley

If you're a typical beer loving Midwesterner like me, Oberon day is a big deal. It signifies the coming of summer and the refreshing beers made just for the warmer months. Bell's "Oberon" is a unique take on the wheat beer in that it packs a citrus punch alongside a slightly spicy hop profile. In fact, there is an argument to be made that it's one of the most refreshing summer beers you'll  ever get your lips on.

Playing off of this, Stout Barrel House and Galley, located in the heart of River North, has created an Oberon cake just for summer. Served with cream cheese frosting, an orange gastrique and orange slices, this may be the perfect post-meal, post-oberon dessert. I highly suggest you get into Stout as soon as possible, or your might miss out on this and many of the rotating craft beers that they provide.
