Craft Beer Cocktails

Craft Beer Cocktails

Personally, I never get tired of drinking beer...and I don't see how anyone could! There are beers for every occasion and season, but unless you're only around craft beer aficionados, you're probably not going to get away with it all of the time. Some say beer is too blue collar and doesn't have a place at "classy establishments." Beyond that, some say that if you're into beer you're not classy (what do they know?!?!). But I say that great beer deserves it's "place on the shelf," and I say we should give it all of the attention that cocktails get!

So I've assembled a mixed assortment of craft beer cocktails using various liquors to please the masses. I've included everything from bright and summery drinks for the beach to dark and roasty drinks for cold winter nights. Mix some of these up for yourself and a few guests before gauging their reaction. I would be willing to bet the "non-beer drinkers" out there will even appreciate these!

Cheers!

The Elderfire

4 oz. Kona Brewing "Big Wave" blonde ale

1.5 oz. Bombay Sapphire gin

1.5 oz. St. Germain Elderflower liqueur

***The St. Germain really rounds out the gin, so don't think this will be too "piney."

The End of the World

4 oz. Unibroue "La Fin du Monde" tripel

1.5 oz. Hendrick's gin

1 oz. Lemon juice

***I originally highlighted this in a post about the Mayan apocalypse here.

The Porter-Rican

12 oz. Founder's Brewing Porter

1.5 oz. Myer's Original dark rum

***I'm from Michigan so I'm a little partial to this West Michigan gem.

The Kabocha Pumpkin

2 oz. Tyranena Brewing "Painted Ladies Pumpkin Spice" ale

1 oz. Templeton Rye whiskey

1 oz. Laird's Bonded Apple brandy

1/2 oz. Maple Syrup

1 whole organic egg

***I originally highlighted this in a post about Roka Akor's winter menu here.

The Here Comes the Sun

1 1/2 oz. Dobel tequila (pictured above)

1 dash Bitters

2 1/2 oz. Orange juice

2 tsp. Maraschino juice

12 oz. Three Floyd's "Dreadnaught" DIPA

***You can substitute a weaker IPA instead of this if you so choose.

The McGarrett

5 oz. Kona Brewing "Koko Brown" ale

1.5 oz. Skyy Pineapple vodka

***This is incredibly drinkable and refreshing, don't let the color fool you!
