Unsold Hinsdale home becomes a dream house

If a home languishes on the market for more than a year without selling, can it still be called a "dream house?" If it didn't sell at its most recent offering price of $1.1 million, can you still call it a $1.2 million home?

The answer to both questions is "yes" if you're buying a $150 raffle ticket for a chance to win the home. Hinsdale – Clarendon Hills Patch has the details.

One thing's for sure, the winner of the raffle will want to pay income tax on the home's value at less than $1.2 million. The winner may search for an appraiser who calls it a $500K dream house.
