Views of downtown Chicago from Wheaton high-rise apartments

On a clear day you can't quite see forever, but you can have a good view of the Chicago skyline some 20 miles in the distance from the high-rise towers at The Apartments of Wheaton Center. The apartments are a short distance from the Metra stop and a few minutes stroll from downtown Wheaton's shopping, dining and entertainment options.

Wheaton Center apartments range in size from studios to two-bedrooms. Studios start at $977 a month, one-bedrooms at $1,030 and, with a "Click and Save" offer on the project's Web site, two-bedrooms are available from $1,083.

Wheaton Center offers a range of finish levels at different price points, captioned as Premier, Upgraded and Standard. Premier kitchens have cherry cabinets, Upgraded kitchens maple cabinets, and Standard kitchens feature "classic" cabinets. Premier countertops are granite and Upgraded countertops are "granite-style."

Wheaton's proximity to major highways and Metra access has long made it a favorite of transferees relocating to the Chicago area. Early in its history it was a popular summer retreat for wealthy Chicagoans, and was the site of the first 18-hole golf course in the United States.

If high-rise living in the suburbs afflicts you with a bad case of cognitive dissonance, you'll find a selection of Wheaton apartment complexes in Wheaton at Apartments.com.
