Sales volumes increased year-over-year in only 3 of the communities: Glencoe (+53%), Kenilworth (+10%) and Winnetka (+6%). It’s interesting... Read more »
Remember when North Shore teardowns were hot?
Six years ago builders seeking North Shore teardown lots were as common as flower-munching deer in Highland Park. Today I can find only 4 homes listed as teardown candidates on the North Shore, three in Glencoe and one in Winnetka. Listings for vacant land are also scarce and many of those listings have lingered on... Read more »
Another half-off sale on Glencoe new construction
About six weeks ago I posted on two new construction Glencoe homes that eventually sold for steep discounts from their original asking price. When we first visited 501 Greenleaf (pictured above) in Glencoe, back in July of 2006, the home was still under construction and priced at $4,295,000. It sold last November for $2,050,000, less... More than half of those listings – 5 single-family homes and 10 apartments and condos – were in Evanston. There were no new rental listings in Kenilworth, Winnetka, Highwood or Highland Park...
