A rare 57 acres on the North Shore?

It's probably just a curious coincidence but Kraft Foods, some of whose brands once competed with H.J. Heinz' 57 Varieties, had a 57-acre corporate campus in Glenview.

Crain's is reporting that Hamilton Partners is acquiring the Kraft Foods office campus at the northwest corner of Waukegan and Golf Roads. The bulk of the site, Kraft's former corporate headquarters, is located in Glenview and a part of it is in Morton Grove.

“It's rare that you have the opportunity to acquire 57 acres on the North Shore of Chicago,” said Paul Sheridan, partner at Hamilton Partners. “With a site that big, it's a bit of a puzzle but it's great real estate.”

It's no coincidence that Hamilton Partners would like to position Glenview on the roster of communities that comprise Chicago's North Shore suburbs. Glenview and Morton Grove, Wheeling and Northbrook are not on the North Shore.
