Wilmette's Mallinckrodt finally nears a sellout

The old Mallinckrodt College building at 1041 Ridge Rd has been a fixture in Wilmette and the North Shore for almost a century. The 180,000 square-foot building sits on 14 acres of park space, just a short walk or bus ride away from Wilmette's shops and restaurants and the Metra's rail line into Chicago.

In 2005, the building was converted to the Mallinckrodt in the Park condo, but many of its historic details and spaces remain intact. The building is age-restricted, with a requirement that at least one of a unit's owners be over the age of 55.

After a seven-year market cycle the building is finally nearing a sellout. Only two units remain available, a 2-bedroom, 2 ½ bath first-floor unit priced at $439,900, and a 2-bedroom, 3 ½ bath 3rd-floor unit being sold as raw space at $639,900.
