"A whole lot of space" is how Chicago Magazine's Dennis Rodkin, in the above video, sums up the historic home at 1137 Greenwood Ave in Wilmette.
The home just came on the market as a new listing, but that's because it was delisted during the holiday season. Rodkin wrote about the home last September after it had been on the market for 5 months.
The home sits on nearly half an acre – three times the size of a normal Wilmette lot, and just one of the ways in which the home is spacious. It boasts seven large bedrooms, five of which are on the second level of the home. A number of the rooms on the first level have been combined from the original layout, adding to the feeling of space, and large windows expand the space to the outside.
The home has an attractive near-downtown location in the CAGE neighborhood. At an asking price of $3,199,000, it's one of only three homes in Wilmette priced above $3 million. Only a few Wilmette homes have sold above that level in recent years.
