Remembering Doug Ayers, a great friend of Chicago real estate

Doug Ayers, who in the past decade led two of the largest residential brokerages in Chicago, Koenig & Strey and Coldwell Banker, passed away last Friday at age 50 after a battle with cancer.

Above all, Doug encouraged the absolute best in people and did it in an inspirational manner. Nancy Nagy, interim COO at Koenig & Strey, remembers Doug:

"Doug was an inspiration to me and to everyone at Koenig & Strey. Though real estate was his passion, his gift was the ability to encourage and develop people. He helped us to be better, kinder and more global in our thinking, lessons that reached far beyond real estate."

According to Mike Scotty, CEO of Data Based Ads, who worked with Doug in the 90s at Coldwell Banker and later as a client, "I can say that Doug was indeed a rare man of integrity who will be missed by many."
