Twenty musicians who suffer from hearing loss

Three of the four members of The Who have had hearing issues and the only reason the fourth, Keith Moon, didn't is because he died forty years ago. Pete Townshend is almost deaf. John Entwistle became a lip reader to overcome his hearing loss. Roger Daltrey is now the musical voice of safety when playing/listening to music
Yesterday, I wrote about hearing problems due to listening to loud music. Today’s followup is a look at musicians who have these same problems. While these musicians are mostly loud rockers, there are some surprises. Here’s a gallery of musicians with ear issues:   Related Post: Do you use ear protection at concerts? Type your... Roger Daltrey at Ravinia: If the music is too loud, you're too old

It was the summer of 1971. The Who’s anthem “Won’t Be Fooled Again” started getting play on FM radio. I’ve loved this song from the first hearing til now. It would be in my top ten all-time favorite songs. I wanted and needed to hear the album it was on. At the time, I was... Read more »

Oldchella: A recap of two weekends at Desert Trip

Oldchella: A recap of two weekends at Desert Trip
It’s all over in Indio. Desert Trip, which is affectionately called Oldchella, which I called the music festival for old people ,has come to an end. Two weekends of music from the legends of the 1960’s and 70’s was …well legendary. In a year where the music business has lost a lot of it’s all... Read more »

John Newman- "Come and Get It". This song sells Fords. I never heard of the artist until seeing the ad. I know him now and that's one of the purposes of doing the commercial.
Sell Out! Those are the words used whenever we hear one of our favorite songs in a commercial. Remember how shocked you were when you heard The Beatles “Revolution” used to sell Nike shoes? Bob Dylan selling lingerie, yogurt, cars and computers? BLASPHEMY! There are lots of reasons for artists to have their songs in... Read more »

A music festival for old people

While we’re starting to get over last weeks shocking death of Prince, we certainly aren’t dealing well with all the musical deaths in the first four months of 2016. I’m constantly hearing one of these two sentences…I’m glad I got to see him in concert before he died…or…..Now I’ll never get to see him. Summer... Read more »

Please stand as Mr. James Marshall Hendrix plays our National Anthem.
Today is primary day in Illinois, Florida, Ohio and a few other states. Do you need some motivation to get out there and vote? Maybe some election music will get you out there. Howard Moore

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
