The week in review: The midweek edition

Another day, another school shooting. This time at Santa Fe High School in Texas. This time ten are dead. It's the twenty second school shooting in 2018.
Usually I have to wait for the weekend to have a Week In Review. Not this week. There’s politics. There’s sex. There’s politics and sex combined. Here we go with the ridiculousness: Type your email address in the box and click the “create subscription” button. My list is completely spam free, and you can opt... Read more »

Who has been watching Barron Trump this week?

Who has been watching Barron Trump this week?
On Monday, our current FLOTUS, Melania Trump was hospitalized. She had a procedure to deal with a benign kidney condition. We’re told everything went well and that’s a good thing. Hey, just because she has bad taste in men is no reason to wish her harm. Supposedly, she’ll be home, and sadly by home, I... Read more »

The week in review: People you should know

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/IxgfXKwhRwM" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Let's start with Republican strategist Steve Schmidt. Nicolle Wallace asked him a simple question about Mike Pence. The VP now has a new orifice. I need a dictionary every time I see Schmidt speak but it's so worth it.
Another week comes to an end. More nonsense with a couple sweet moments at the end to balance it out. Here’s some people that you should know about: Type your email address in the box and click the “create subscription” button. My list is completely spam free, and you can opt out at any time.... I stalked Kellyanne Conway on Twiter

I stalked Kellyanne Conway on Twiter
Tuesday seemed like it was going to be a good day. Keyword: seemed. I went to bed on Monday night at 11pm, which is two hours early for me. I slept straight through to 7:30am. Eight and one half hours of sleep!! Can’t remember when that last happened. A good start to Tuesday…a very good... Read more »

The week in review: The old privileged white guy in Portland edition

Let us start at Starbucks. We all know the story of the two black men being arrested in Philadelphia. I can't count the times I've been to Starbucks to do things like using the wi-fi to write this blog, read or use the bathroom...without buying anything..and never being asked a single question. Is it because I'm a 60ish year old white man? Pffft...what do you think?! Starbucks will be closing all their stores for an afternoon to conduct a diversity training class. Good start! Maybe they should do it monthly until they get it right? Maybe! Maybe they should just treat everyone equally with respect. DUH!!
It’s time to look at the events of this past week. Highlights include racism, privilege, our President and his lackey plus a trip to Portland, Oregon. Let’s have a look, shall we? The Week In Review: The April snow edition

Monday was the home opening day for the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Naturally it snowed. Game cancelled until the next day...when it was going to be about 35 degrees. April baseball in cold weather cities....Good Idea!!
It’s the middle of April so naturally that means there is snow in Chicago which affects outdoor events. Here’s a look at the weather and oh yeah…other strange events in The Week In Review: Type your email address in the box and click the “create subscription” button. The Trump administration finally gives bloggers respect...sorta

The Trump administration finally gives bloggers respect...sorta
In this strange era of Donald Trump, you have to move quick if you want to keep up. Things happen fast and end just as fast. The shelf life of a particular event is about one day. Okay…maybe a bit longer…but two or three at the most. You don’t believe me? The Stormy interview on 60... Read more »

The weekend in review: The Final Four/Easter edition

The fifteen minutes of fame for Loyola's Sister Jean is over. Looks like Michigan's 100 year old grandmother of former player Jalen Rose took her down. The good news for the 98 year old nun is the day after the Final Four loss, was Easter, so she could hang out with her main dude.
WOW! What a weekend! So much news. So much dysfunction! Usually it takes a week to get enough material to write one of these. Not this time. So let’s have a peek OY!!! Type your email address in the box and click the “create subscription” button. My list is completely spam free, and you can... Read more »

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hPmWrbRloR4" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Thursday was opening day in MLB. Every team was scheduled to play although there were a couple of weather postponements...suprising for March, right?
The first game was between the Cubs and Marlins. Let's get it started!!
It the last week in March so it must mean Major League Baseball gets underway. OY!!!! Just a little chilly out for baseball? Well whatever…it’s started. Besides baseball, there’s other things going on in the world…so let’s take a look. Type your email address in the box and click the “create subscription” button. My list... Read more »

The week in review: The Stormy Seattle edition

The week in review: The Stormy Seattle edition
I’m on a quest to visit all fifty states. It’s a bucket list thing. The magic number going into this year was ten. A friend has been working a temp gig in Seattle. Cheap airfare and free lodging made this trip a no-brainer. Off to Washington state for the first time. Nine states to go!... Read more »

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
