Twenty musicians who suffer from hearing loss

Three of the four members of The Who have had hearing issues and the only reason the fourth, Keith Moon, didn't is because he died forty years ago. Pete Townshend is almost deaf. John Entwistle became a lip reader to overcome his hearing loss. Roger Daltrey is now the musical voice of safety when playing/listening to music
Yesterday, I wrote about hearing problems due to listening to loud music. Today’s followup is a look at musicians who have these same problems. While these musicians are mostly loud rockers, there are some surprises. Here’s a gallery of musicians with ear issues:   Related Post: Do you use ear protection at concerts? Type your... A long night with Bob Dylan

A long night with Bob Dylan
It was an old voice at a new building. What could go wrong? Bob Dylan, the poet of my generation, opened up the new Wintrust Arena, in Chicago’s McCormick Place area. The building itself looks beautiful on the outside. It was nicely lit up in purple lights…very attractive. And then you walked inside and blah. Plain.... Read more »

The Week In Review: June 26-July 2

We start with a Trump tweet. In this one, he blames Obama for not doing anything after finding out about Russian hacking in the election. DUDE...you should be on your knees thanking him every day. If he said a word, you'd still be selling property and cheating people out of money. I'm pissed at Obama because he kept it on the downlow. Who knew Don and I would ever agree on anything?
It’s been a great week. Lot’s of snarky stuff in politics, music, sports and food. Let’s bring it on!!! That’s all for another week. Enjoy your holiday.   Related Post: Can Donald Trump Embarrass himself and us anymore? Type your email address in the box and click the “create subscription” button. My list is completely... The times they are a changing...and not for the better

The times they are a changing...and not for the better
Politicians….pfffft!!! It’s December. In Chicago that means it’s cold and snowy. And this December has been very cold and very snowy. The Illinois state government has been at odds over the budget for two years. No one is willing to compromise. When that happens, the people that tend to get hurt the worst are those who... Oldchella: A recap of two weekends at Desert Trip

Oldchella: A recap of two weekends at Desert Trip
It’s all over in Indio. Desert Trip, which is affectionately called Oldchella, which I called the music festival for old people ,has come to an end. Two weekends of music from the legends of the 1960’s and 70’s was …well legendary. In a year where the music business has lost a lot of it’s all... Read more »

Today is Bob Dylan’s 75th birthday. In a year where the world of music has lost a lot of great talents, it’s nice to see one of it’s legends hitting a milestone. A music festival for old people

While we’re starting to get over last weeks shocking death of Prince, we certainly aren’t dealing well with all the musical deaths in the first four months of 2016. I’m constantly hearing one of these two sentences…I’m glad I got to see him in concert before he died…or…..Now I’ll never get to see him. Summer... Read more »

There are hundreds of great war protest songs. Here are ten of them. If you have others that are your favorites I’d love to hear them. Enjoy... Read more »

Top Ten List: David Letterman And His Music
Tonight will be the final Late Show with David Letterman. I’ve been a huge Letterman fan since the opening NBC show in 1982. There was something about him that made you turn him on every night. It was so much different than anything that was on the air. Bill Murray was the first guest. Chris... Read more »

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
