After heart surgery, Mick still "Moves Like Jagger"
It was almost two months ago that the Rolling Stones announced they were forced to postpone their upcoming summer tour. Mick Jagger was undergoing surgery to replace a heart valve. Fans of the band were “Shattered.” Millions had purchased pricey tickets, myself included, looking forward to a night of great music with the legends. We’re disappointed the... Read more »

Mother's Day 2019: Hey Mom, Just give me a little sign

Mother's Day 2019: Hey Mom, Just give me a little sign
Death! It scares me a little. Okay, if we’re being honest, it scares me more than a little…it scares me…well…to death. It’s not so much the actual part of being dead, although I don’t feel so great about that, it’s that afterlife thing. Yanno, that where are we going to reside for eternity. That’s what... My heart doctor is a hypochondriac

My heart doctor is a hypochondriac
I don’t get over things easy. I hold on to issues that bother me for years. For instance, it’s forty-eight years later and I’m still pissed off that the Chicago Blackhawks blew game seven of the Stanley Cup Final to the Montreal Canadians. Yeah, I know they’ve won three Stanley Cups recently, but I’m still upset... Read more »

Does exercise count if you stop halfway for cookies and ice cream?

Does exercise count if you stop halfway for cookies and ice cream?
When it comes to exercise and diet, I talk a big game. But that’s all it is, talk! Physically, I’m far from peak condition…very far. My eating habits are horrible. I don’t exercise. When you combine those two, I’m surprised, I don’t weigh three hundred pounds. And when you combine that with my family history... Read more »

I'm going to Graceland

I'm going to Graceland
I’m going to Graceland,Graceland. Memphis,Tennessee. I’m going to Graceland. Poor boys and pilgrims with families. And we’re going to Graceland. Have you ever gone somewhere that you know is going to be cheesy, but you go anyways? I just did that last Friday. I went to Graceland. It was a weekend in Memphis. My niece... Read more »

I may be a hypochondriac

I may be a hypochondriac
sleepiness, dizziness, nausea skin rash, headache, diarrhea constipation, upset stomach, dry mouth changes in appetite, impotence, decreased sex drive dry mouth, weight loss DEATH Have you seen those commercials for medications? You’ve noticed that the list of possible side effects last longer than the benefit from the drug? Then, do you go through them and say to yourself “yes, I have that…and that…and that.”... Read more »

How's your NCAA Basketball tournament bracket doing?

How's your NCAA Basketball tournament bracket doing?
The first round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament is in the books. How’s it going for you? Is your bracket busted yet? It seems as if every year, all I hear is tales of woe over a team that lost. Even worse is the whining over multiple teams are out. Dead brackets on the first weekend. I... Read more »

The lies of Donald Trump-The week in review: The liar, liar, pants on fire edition

This is Judge Amy Berman Jackson. Last week she sentenced former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort. During the sentencing, she made clear that this case had nothing to do with the Russian collusion investigation. It took Trump about thirty seconds to say he was vindicated and this showed that there was no collusion. LIAR!
Our current president lying to the public and himself is nothing new. It’s been said that Donald Trump has told more than 8,000 lies in his two years in office. There’s no reason to be surprised when he does this, but some weeks are worse than others. This seems to be one of those. Let’s... Read more »

The week in review: March Madness edition

The tournament committee pretends that they don't try to set up big stories or interesting match-ups. LIARS! Why else would they have Minnesota, coached by Richard Pitino, play Louisville, where his dad coached and was fired in disgrace, in the opening game. Yeah, no drama here!
The big news this week is the start of the NCAA Basketball tournament. For the next three weeks the sports world will focus on college basketball and the race to get to the Final Four, in Minneapolis. March Madness is here. Let’s take a peek at some of the teams and stories around the big... Read more »

Are George and Kellyanne Conway screwing with all of us?

Are George and Kellyanne Conway screwing with all of us?
(sing to the theme of The Jetson’s) Meet George Conway. His wife Kellyanne. It’s Washington’s most bizarre power couple. They’ve been married for eighteen years. They have four young children. Nothing abnormal about this. She helped Donald Trump get elected POTUS and now works for him. He hates her boss and lets everyone know it... Read more »

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
