Hard to believe but in about two weeks either Clinton or Trump will be "Elected".
Maybe we can vote Alice Cooper in instead?

Oldchella: A recap of two weekends at Desert Trip

Oldchella: A recap of two weekends at Desert Trip
It’s all over in Indio. Desert Trip, which is affectionately called Oldchella, which I called the music festival for old people ,has come to an end. Two weekends of music from the legends of the 1960’s and 70’s was …well legendary. In a year where the music business has lost a lot of it’s all... Read more »

In 2016, The Rolling Stones are more relevant than ever

In 2016, The Rolling Stones are more relevant than ever
Rediscovering is cool! Do you have a book you like to read every decade or so? Mine is “To Kill A Mockingbird.” I like to read it every few years or so. Movies and television are like that, too. My favorite movie has always been “Casablanca” and I go through withdrawal if I don’t see... Read more »

Billy Joel, Rod Stewart and Cover Bands: Keeping an open mind

Billy Joel, Rod Stewart and Cover Bands: Keeping an open mind
It’s been a strange weekend. There are times in your life when you need to rethink your values. This may be one of those times…maybe. In the last few years, there have been three things in the musical world that I’ve disliked. Billy Joel. Rod Stewart. Cover Bands. Maybe not disco dislike and definitely not... Read more »

The son of old blue eyes died of a heart attack on March 16.
We’re a couple of weeks past the halfway point of the year. If it seems that there has been a lot of legends of the music world checking out permanently, you’d be right. I usually do a death in music blog every year. There’s been enough dying that we can do a post at now... Read more »

Is using your music to pitch products selling out or just good business?

John Newman- "Come and Get It". This song sells Fords. I never heard of the artist until seeing the ad. I know him now and that's one of the purposes of doing the commercial.
Sell Out! Those are the words used whenever we hear one of our favorite songs in a commercial. Remember how shocked you were when you heard The Beatles “Revolution” used to sell Nike shoes? Bob Dylan selling lingerie, yogurt, cars and computers? BLASPHEMY! There are lots of reasons for artists to have their songs in... Read more »

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
