Fifteen athletes with Parkinson's Disease

We're in the final week of Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month. The disease plays no favorites and attacks people from all areas of life and occupations.

A lot of athletes have or had Parkinson's. Their sports vary from track and cycling to football and hockey. Is there a connection between sports and Parkinson's? Maybe...maybe not. The experts aren't sure about that yet....and we'll get into a little more depth about that tomorrow.

Here's a list of athletes who suffered with Parkinson's.

Here's the post I wrote about Kirk Gibson when he announced he had Parkinson's. I've written more than 100 posts about Parkinson's Disease in my four years at ChicagoNow. You can find them in this link.

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
