Food Drive to help homeless at the Chicago Auto Show

The 2017 Chicago Auto Show is now at McCormick Place. It's a chance to see cars from all major manufacturers in one place. Plus from now through this Friday, it's an opportunity to help the less fortunate people of Chicago.

The regular admission price is $14. Each year the show sponsors a food drive. If you bring three cans of food, you'll receive a coupon for $7 admission.

The food will go the A Safe Haven Foundation. They'll distribute some of the food in the neighborhoods surrounding McCormick Place. It will also help to provide meals at their shelter programs.

This is a program that A Safe Haven has been running for almost two decades.

"Over the past 19 years the Chicago Auto Show has collected over 300,000 pounds of food for A Safe Haven and we believe that the food drive is an important element of the work we do each year in putting on the Auto Show in this great community," said Dave Sloan, General Manager of the 2016 Chicago Auto Show.

It's an opportunity for you to save a little money while helping people who can use the help. A Win/Win! Hard to get better than that.

This is a story about a Southern California restaurant owner who feeds disadvantaged youths every night.
Tomorrow I'll tell and show you about my trip to The Auto Show.

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
