Some time between four and six months, babies start eating food. Why on earth this was so exciting with my first child is a mystery to me. I used to get all pumped up, mash up my organic produce and treat the whole thing like a holy ritual. Even my flying airplane spoons were an experiment in performance art. High holy baby! But Second Child Syndrome has me all, "now I have to cook for more people?"
I'm trying to get excited about this again, so the timing couldn't be better for my peeps at the Bump Club And Beyond's "Baby Food Made Easy" classes. Each weekly session features special guest natural foods chef and nutrition counselor Amanda Skrip and curriculum input from Denise Henderson, President of Square One Organics. Plus we mamas get treats. Word.
You could go ghetto and do like I did last time (mash whatever you're eating with a fork, serve in a chalice, repeat) or you could be a fancy drawers like 2011 me and take a class. Come on! Overcompensate with me!

Meal Times for Babies 1 Year +: Tuesday, July 26 at 7:00pm, Whole Foods Market (Halsted and Waveland)
