Record Store Day

Today is the big day! For those who don't know, Record Store Day is a nationwide, annual event that started in 2007. It is day created by independent record store owners and employees as a way to celebrate the music. It highlights the culture that surrounds independently owned record stores throughout the country.

Taking place on the third Saturday of April each year, one of the most exciting aspects of Record Store Day for the fans is all of the one-of-a-kind vinyl and special releases made exclusive for this day and this day alone.

Here are the issues I'm most excited for today:

  1. Foals- "Holy Fire" (Vinyl)
  2. The Cure- "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me" (Vinyl)
  3. Grizzly Bear- "Horn of Plenty" (Vinyl)
  4. Ra Ra Riot- "Binary Mind" (Vinyl)
  5. Elliot Smith- Alternate Versions from "Either/Or" (vinyl)
  6. Surfer Blood- "Demon Dance" (Vinyl)
  7. Tame Impala- "Tame Impala (EP)" (Vinyl)
  8. Portugal. The Man- "Church Mouth" (Vinyl)
  9. White Stripes- "Elephant (10th Anniversary)" (Vinyl)
  10. Phoenix- "Entertainment" (Vinyl)

So log on to the website, Recordstoreday.com, find your closest participating record store, and get out there and celebrate the music!
