Yes, today is my birthday!!
I am celebrating my 63rd eon on this planet, and decided to commemorate it with a Post!
Actually, I've wanted to write about this topic for awhile, but decided that rather than launching into my usual screed, I'd make an attempt to appeal to individuals' intelligence and common sense.
Fully realizing that many individuals are morons, nevertheless....
Cancer remains one of the most feared of all illnesses.
It is not uncommon for people to ask why we don't have a "cure" yet.
They want to know why the treatments are so toxic, and the consequences of the disease so dire.
Well, what if I told you that there exists a very simple way to essentially eliminate a certain type of cancer.
It's very simple, only takes a few minutes and has no side effects.
I'm guessing there might be a few. Just as I'm guessing that there are some saying I'm full of shit.
Not this time.
There is a vaccine against HPV (Human Papilloma Virus),which simply stated, could virtually eradicate cervical cancer, as well as reduce the incidence of non-smoking related cancers of the head and neck and cancers of the vagina, vulva, penis, anus and rectum.
Yet, when pediatricians suggest vaccinating girls and boys, there are a number of parents, that say, "No."
Why would anyone with even a small portion of functioning brain deny their children the protection afforded by this?
Wait, don't tell me, let me guess.
Is it because it deals with "sex and genitalia"?
Ooooh, scary. Who wants to think about their kids being sexual beings?
That's disgusting! (Until you want grandkids, that is.)
Yet, let's face it. That's the reality.
People somehow think that this vaccine could either "harm" their child, or perhaps turn them into raging nymphomaniacs and satyrs, because now they're "protected".
Yet, all of that is complete horseshit.
The vaccine is safe, and we could literally see the eradication of cervical cancer in our lifetime! How is that not miraculous?
So, here's my birthday wish.
Please vaccinate your kids against HPV. It's one of the best things you can do for them.
Don't listen to all the crap that's out there. Listen to your doctor.
Listen to me.
And, if anyone tries to tell you that there are downsides to this vaccine-STAY SKEPTICAL!
Thanks for all the birthday wishes, and please like and share this post to help me get the word out!
