The Kings didn't beat the Blackhawks Monday night, as much as the Blackhawks beat themselves. The Hawks late period goal woes have reached a new low. After going ahead 2-1 in the 1st, the boys let the Kings steal a goal with 0.5 seconds left in the period. It was like watching a cult suicide, but without the delicious Kool-Aid.
The Kings' go ahead goal came with around 1:30 left in the game as well.
The power play is a constant struggle again, and the top D men were embarrassing. The O is still going strong at least. Kane found himself on the scoresheet again, and a hard-working Michael Frolik was finally rewarded this season, scoring 2 goals last night after getting moved to the top line. It was utterly disappointing that after each hard-earned Hawks goal, the Kings would answer back, unchallenged by the defense.
