Blackhawks Prospect Camp - Scrimmages - a lot on the line

Johnny's Ice House was packed for the Red VS White Blackhawks Prospect scrimmage late Thursday afternoon. There is clearly a lot of anticipation for the Blackhawks this season when fans are filling the seats and lined up around the boards for prospect camp.

Thursday's scrimmage provided some great entertainment for the fans. The scrimmage concluded with a 4-3 victory for the Red team after a shootout. Daniel Carr scored the scrimmage-winning goal (only goal in shootout). Kevin Hayes scored the first goal for the White team and Teuvo Teravainen, already dubbed Patrick Kane Jr by the Chicago media, scored the first goal for the Red team.

The Teuvo / Kane comparisons may be excessively premature, but fans can't help but be excited and intrigued by them. They are both extremely fast skaters, have great hands, and some sweet blond hair. Tuevo seems driven to become bigger and stronger because he realizes as soon as that happens he'll be wearing an Indian head. Let's hope he doesn't leave his work ethic at a bar or in the back seat of a cab later on like someone else.

Some of the grittiness was said to come from a pre-game pump up the jam type speech from Blalckhawks hopeful Brandon Saad who played 4 games for the Hawks last year. Saad had an assist on a game-tying goal during the scrimmage. Saad's leadership, quickness, and work ethic will not be ignored by the Blackhawks brass.

The prospects continue to work hard for some recognition from the Hawks higher ups and possibly to delight the organization's welcoming fans. If the right moves are made by the organization, this could be a very good year at the Madhouse. Regardless... we've got prospects!!!

P.S. Was that Ex-Capitals head coach Dale Hunter at the scimmage??? Isn't Q supposed to name an assistant coach soon? Nah, that's a stretch.
