The Blackhawks lose 3-1 against the Predators. Dave Bolland scored on a power play for the Hawks and I don't care who scored for Nashville because I'm not a hillbilly who pretends to like hockey. This was the 2nd game in a row the Hawks lost to Nashville. It was as big a game as the last one as they are now tied for 3rd with the Predators in the Central Division (64 pts). Detroit is in 1st with 67 and St Louis a close 2nd with 65. These are teams you don't want to have to play catch up with because they probably won't lose much.

We've seen it before folks, led by Duncan Keith, the Blackhawks defense refused to show up again for the second game in a row against the Predators. It's becoming an all too familar sight, the fabulous Corey Crawford gets shelled when he's in net because the Hawks literally stand around and watch, and no one feels like clearing the crease. I feel worse and worse for Corey Crawford because he's proven himself to be a fantastic goaltender. The team is not helping him out this year.

And here's another thing, 2 of the Hawks' top players, 2 of the top players in the NHL, Toews and Sharp, are out and the Hawks face a Nashville team that plays physical so why are we still not seeing John Scott in the roster? I don't want to hear some nerds who don't understand how valuable the toughest enforcer in hockey is say he's a liability, because it couldn't be further from the truth. Aside from adding a much, much needed phsyical edge to the Hawks when he plays, he protects the key players from injury. His skills are vastly improved this year after spending a lot of time working on them in the off season. His passing is great and he's made several big defensive plays, he was even a second star of a game a little bit ago. So if you want to pick on the goofy big guy because someone who looks like him shoved you in your locker back in high school, go ahead, hope it keeps you from crying in your cubicle at your terrible job.

It's an unfortuate spot for the Hawks to be in before the All-Star break, but Toews and Sharp will be back soon and I expect the momentum to shift, because it has to.
