Not something you've probably ever heard...a major local rock band playing a baseball field all the way out in Geneva, but it's true!
Just announced that local Chicago-based artists Wilco will be playing at the newly renamed Fifth Third Bank Ballpark, home of the Kane County Cougars, in Geneva on Sunday, July 8th.
The concert is the first ever staged at the ballpark and will also feature Andrew Bird and The Congregation. Tickets are $50 and go on sale this Saturday at 10am.
All seats are general admission, giving concert-goers the option to be on field or in stadium seating. Parking lots open at 4 p.m. and doors open at 5 p.m.
The concert is part of a WXRT-FM 40th anniversary celebration and includes a post-show fireworks display.
Tickets are available at the Fifth Third Bank Ballpark box office, Chicago’s Vic Theatre box office at 3145 N. Sheffield and through eTix.com.
It's great to see something like this take place as it opens the door for hopefully many more big name acts making their way to suburban outdoor ball parks and venues for summertime!
