Discovering "The Buddy Foundation"

Discovering "The Buddy Foundation"

During my years living in Arlington Heights, I always said to myself that I wanted to volunteer at a local animal shelter like I did when I lived downtown and volunteered at P.A.W.S. on Clybourn, but I never was able to find a local one.

Pets (especially Dogs) have always been near and dear to my heart like a brother or sister would be and I've been blessed to have many amazing dogs over the years.

Just yesterday I tripped over an article about a local Arlington Heights based organization named The Buddy Foundation, located at 65 W. Seegers Road, near Golf & Arlington Heights roads.

It's great to discover a new local organization that is looking out for these little guys when they have no one else to look out for them.

They are celebrating their 17th birthday next week as well. Celebrate the Buddy Birthday Bash at Morettiā€™s in Mount Prospect from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23. There will be auctions, games, prizes and raffles. Your donation of $30 in advance or $35 at the door includes a buffet dinner and two drinks. Reserve your tickets by mail or call (847) 290-5806.

One of the brightest parts of my day is coming home from work to see my little Bichon Frise mix, Lucky, barking up a storm to voice his excitement that I'm home and he has someone to cuddle up with.

Adopting this little guy has certain transformed our "house" to a "home" in a short amount of time...it's the magic that a pet can bring to you for saving their life!
