For us "suburbanites", its always a blast to be able to head down to the city, have a fun night (late night, early next day, etc.) and scurry back to the 'burbs away from the traffic and congestion...so clear your calendars for this Saturday.
Why you ask??? This Saturday is the mecca of all city bar crawls as it's the 16th year of "Festa’s Twelve Bars Of Xmas: The World’s Most Spectacular Pub Crawl", which is also known to attendees as "TBOX".
Last year’s TBOX had 10,000 participants and proved to be Chicago’s premiere winter bar crawl. This year’s crawl kicks things off at the famous Cubby Bear at 8:00 a.m, continuing until 10:00 p.m. at bars all around the Wrigleyville neighborhood in Chicago. The crawl includes famed bars such as Sluggers, Murphy’s Bleachers, Rebel, the Stretch, Red Ivy, John Barleycorn, and almost every bar in the area. The bars have been reserved specifically for TBOX campers, giving them exclusive access to the city’s best bars and the crawl of the century (at least, until next year’s TBOX).
There is a planned total of 36 bars that will be visited and the best part is that in addition to the crazy Christmas-themed outfits normally worn by attendees, they can also dress to fit the summer camp-in-winter theme.
Doesn't it sounds too go to be true...it gets better!
