Gin Blossoms with their major hits "Hey Jealous", "Follow You Down", and "Until I Hear It From You" (from the Empire Records soundtrack), were huge successes growing from a small college following to a major label/national success in the mid to late 90s.
The "Blossoms" were one of my favorite pop rock bands at the time, which also included the Spin Doctors. I liked them enough that I always joked I would eventually have them play at my wedding someday...
Now fast forward ten plus years and sure their successful years are behind them, but with a solid fifth studio album to support, No Chocolate Cake, they are back on the road and playing the Arlington Heights Freedom Fest a week from today, Friday, July 1st.
Frontier Days has plenty for everyone, it's a staple in everyone's summer plans in Arlington Heights/surrounding suburbs and I'm sure to be there a few days
Summer street/city festivals are awesome, there's so many that it's tough to choose from, but going to my hometown one is a no brainer.
