Are You Excited About The 2011 Lollapalooza Lineup?

If you are, rock on...but I'm not...

Sure, Eminem hasn't toured in a few years and A Perfect Circle or Coldplay are always solid live shows, but wasn't Lollapalooza supposed to be a destination for rare and once-in-a-lifetime performances since it was revived in Chicago a few years back.

I guess The Cars are supposed to be this years "comeback"...

Lollapalooza 2011

Now I know I shouldn't be gripeing about a festival that brings millions of dollars and one of the largest summer festivals to the city, but for the money that they are asking...is it really worth it at $215 for a 3-day pass or $80 for a single day?

With headliners Foo Fighters, Eminem, Coldplay, Muse, My Morning Jacket (headliner?), Deadmau5, A Perfect Circle, Cee Lo Green, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley & Nas, the Cars, and Ween; it does strike the question of "who is going to play against each other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night?"

I'd actually be a bit more excited about some of the secondary acts like Cage the Elephant, Deftones, Flogging Molly, OK Go, Patrick Stump, Smith Westerns, and Girl Talk or Kid Cudi on the Perry's DJ stage.

What bands are you excited about or would entice you into making the trip to this years Lollapalooza?

  • I'm extremely disappointed in this year's line-up. The only band I'd really like to see is The Cars. I had been hoping that they would celebrate their 20th anniversary with a lot of retro yet still relevant bands. So much for that.

  • If you are truly a Lolla fanatic you know it's really not about the headliners. There's plenty of gems to see all day and Perry's is where it's at. But yes you are right the price is absurd
