As I can remember the last big blizzard of 1999, I was in high school and really only remember having to walk a few blocks to school.
Unlucky for me, I have a bit farther to go to work than back in 1999...around 16 miles one way, but still it's not as far as some...I guess some people's offices are even closing!
The one thing I'm wondering is "What Will People Remember?", meaning what is going to be the major news piece or story?
Thus far according to a lot of posts on Facebook, Twitter, or even in news bits is that the grocery stores are absolutely insane with people buying food, booze, supplies of any kind.
Really Chicagoland? I mean weeks ago when Georgia got hit with snow for the first time in who knows how long, but for an area that sees snow weekly during the winter.
I'm thinking that this blizzard will be known at "The Blizzard of 2011...The One Where People Overreacted..."
Sure it will be bad and if nothing else, it gives all of us Chicagoans an extra day off in the middle of the week.
Hopefully all of you enjoy our "Grown-Up Snow Day", I'll be enjoying it as well (having to use a vacation day) catching up on my movies and videogames!
What do you think will be the most remembered part of this weeks snowstorm?
