The 10 Best Moments from the 2017 Oscars

The 10 Best Moments from the 2017 Oscars
It was a long show. A lot went down. And, for those who tuned out or went to bed early, you missed a doozy of an ending. Now that we’ve all had time to reflect on last night’s ceremony, here are my picks for the 10 best moments from the 2017 Oscars: *** Enjoy this... Read more »

The Oscars Are Ruining America

Dear Self-Congratulatory Hollywood Bung Holes, How freaking dare you. Do you not watch the news? The economy is stuck in the toilet. Gas is $27 per gallon. Jeremy Lin was not in the NBA All-Star Game, which is just Lin-sanity of the highest order and will probably result in the end of the world being... Read more »

6 Oscar Hosts That Would've Been Better Than James Franco and Anne Hathaway

As one of our commenters (Heidi) said last night during our Oscars live blog, "I think Tina Fey is the only person who knows what funny is." Not an untrue statement. And she and Pohler have a great rapport. Plus, double the fancy dresses! Everybody wins.
This is not a joke post. Lawrence has a promising career ahead of her though so this is just the beginning. You'll be able to see her next as Mystique in this summer's X-Men: First Class.
In past years, the Academy was hard-pressed to find five leading actress roles worthy of a nomination.  That’s not a knock against women or the actresses themselves, it just means that Hollywood regularly neglects films with strong, interesting women at the center.  Thankfully, that’s not the case this year.  All five nominees were given a... 10 Movies The Oscars Made Me Hate

10 Movies The Oscars Made Me Hate
I despise what the Academy Awards have done to me.  They have made me a negative, bitter old crone (more than usual). Every year the Academy chooses a list of films that they deem worthy of praise and attention.  Every year some of my favorites are left out, and every year the Oscar race itself... Read more »
