Summer Movie Wager

Summer Movie Wager

Do you listen to /Film's podcast? It's a good one. They talk about movies and TV and movie theater etiquette and all kinds of things.

Every summer they do a Summer Movie Wager to guess which films will make the most money this year. They choose a top ten--numbers ten and one are weighted the highest--plus three dark horses. The person with the most points after Labor Day wins, and gets to "force" the others in the group to watch something--anything--under three hours long.

John and I are participating this year, and so can you. You can check our scores under JulesHam and Hammertime. Let us know in the comments if you're playing, so we can follow your progress. In These Trying Times, playing a silly movie game is just the distraction we need.

CAVEAT: You must do your picks TODAY. No pressure.

Here are my picks for the top movies of summer 2017:

  1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
  2. Spider-Man: Homecoming
  3. Despicable Me 3
  4. Wonder Woman
  5. Transformers 5
  6. War for the Planet of the Apes
  7. Pirates of the Caribbean 5
  8. The Mummy
  9. Captain Underpants
  10. All Eyez on Me
  • The Dark Tower
  • Baywatch
  • Detroit

Come join us. Make your picks.

I wrote a book! It's YA novel, THE SOUND OF US. You can find the details right here! Kirkus calls it "a winning story about a teenage voice student that hits all the right notes."

I also wrote another book, Any Boy but You, (You've Got Mail in the Pokemon Go era). You can buy it here.
