July is here, so it seems a fitting time to take stock of where we are and what we've seen, and run down my picks for the 10 best movies released in 2015 so far. I've seen 61 new movies this year, and while I always enjoy my time in theaters, it still means I've seen my share of underrated flops (Chappie), hot messes (Jupiter Ascending), disappointments (Pitch Perfect 2), unnecessary TV adaptations (Entourage), stillborn franchise reboots (Terminator Genisys), and the movie equivalent of dog shit (Paul Blart 2). But, every so often, you see a good one and all is forgiven. Here are the 10 best I've seen in 2015 so far. Some of these will definitely end up on my year-end list, and some won't make the cut, but all are worth seeing.
Agree? Disagree? What are the best films you've seen this year?
