Golden Globes 2014: TV Picks

Golden Globes 2014: TV Picks

If you were sleeping this morning at 2:30 AM, you probably missed me squawking on WGN Radio with Dave Plier about my picks for the Golden Globes.

Here's the link to the podcast.

The TV awards should be pretty interesting tonight. Many of the 2013 Emmy Award winners (i.e. Claire Danes, Jeff Daniels, Tony Hale, Bobby Canavale, Anna Gunn, and Merritt Weaver) are not even nominated for Golden Globes. Homeland, Mad Men, 30 Rock, and Game of Thrones are nowhere to be found.

I didn't get to talk much about the ridiculous supporting role categories (into which actors from comedy, drama, and mini-series/TV movie are crammed). I'm rooting for Corey Stoll in the actor category for House of Cards. He was so fantastic on that show. However, I'm thinking Aaron Paul will take the prize for being Jesse Pinkman. People love Jesse Pinkman.

As far as the supporting ladies go, I have no idea. I don't watch any of those shows, nor have I seen any of those TV movies. I'll root for Monica Potter just because I like the Counting Crows.
