Airs: Tuesdays, 9/8 Central
Premise: A family in the '80s do '80s things, yell a lot.
Behind the Scenes: The series was created by Adam F. Goldberg, who (like the younger brother character in the show) used to follow his own family around with a video camera.
The Good: The cast (led by Jeff Garlin, Wendy McLendon-Covey, and George Segal) is quite good. The standout is Troy Gentile, who plays the older brother, Barry. He's someone to watch.
The Bad: So much '80s stuff. We get it. The '80s were dorky. This show was pretty much 23 minutes of people yelling and one minute of Garlin and McLendon-Covey smelling baby blankets.
Stick Around Next Week?: I'd give it another shot. If the show can calm down and lower its pitch, it has the potential to be a decent family comedy. Also, the '80s stuff should be relegated to the background. This show is not about Jane Fonda workout tapes. It's about the people who did Jane Fonda workout tapes.
