Last night, in a time-honored tradition over these past four years, I went by myself to the late opening night screening of the latest Twilight movie. This year, the screening started a little earlier, at 11pm, so I didn't have to wait until midnight. My sleep cycle appreciated it.
Now, I've only read part of New Moon, and none of the other books. I hate these movies on almost every filmmaking level (except the presence of Anna Kendrick in them), and have never bothered to hide this disgust. So why do I keep going? First, I'm a movie freak, and I like to keep up with popular culture. Second, in my opinion, if you are gonna go, the only way to see these movies is to go opening night with all the fans. It almost becomes a comedy listening to them ooh and aah and ask Jacob to take off his pants, as if you're watching an episode of Saved by the Bell.
But to keep myself further entertained, I live-tweeted the whole thing. Check it out, if you should be so bold: https://twitter.com/Hammervision
See you in another 2 years when the whole thing gets rebooted, with Hailee Steinfeld from True Grit...
