Airs: Wednesdays at 10/9c on CBS
Genre: Legal Dramedy
The Set-Up: Two slick defense attorneys take on clients and try cases in Las Vegas. Nick Morelli (James Belushi) is a divorced dad. Pete Kaczmarek (Jerry O'Connell) is sleeping with a prosecutor (Dirty Sexy Money's Natalie Zea).
The Good: Belushi and O'Connell are likeable together. The Las Vegas backdrop always makes for glitzy entertainment. The rigid, tried-and-true CBS procedural framework is sure to appeal to its older target audience.
The Bad: It's just another lawyer show! More character development is needed, less plot. Who cares if the little farm boy committed murder vs. involuntary manslaughter? Vegas is really only used to mark scene transitions - the environment needs to factor more into the cases each week.
The Verdict: A hung jury. Not bad, not good. Not a waste of time, not really worth your time either. If legal procedurals are your thing, enjoy. Everyone else can skip it. **1/2 stars.
