'Chase' Review - It's NOT a Procedural...

Chase - NBC (Monday, 9 PM)

...But, yeah, it is.

The Good: It's always nice to see a kick butt lady as the lead of a series.  It's also surprisingly good to see Cole Hauser on the small screen.
This show doesn't break any new ground, really, TV-wise, but it's a fairly watchable, mindless procedural about catching fugitives.
The Bad: This show breaks absolutely zero new ground.  And some of the dialogue is painfully cheesy.  And the little character "moments" feel forced.
The Verdict: Skip it.  You've seen it all before and done better on the Laws & Orders and the CSIs and the NCISes.

  • I'm trying to keep up with you guys and watch all these shows. This one is on my DVR, but I just couldn't bring myself to watch it last night. The previews looked like every other cop/investigator show on there. Also, the lead lady's backstory seems boring and oft-tread. Women can be "strong" or "tough" just because they are, they don't have to overcome every cliche hurdle in life to become that. Watching this show feels like a bad homework assignment. I'll watch it after a few glasses of wine.

Definitely skip it. You don't have time for this garbage. You're too busy being a "strong" and "tough" woman who's overcome every cliched hurdle in the book.

  • In reply to Ashby:

After the opening sequence, which was an exhausting, protracted foot-chase, no one was out of breath 2 seconds later. I immediately hit the 'delete' button. They don't even try for authenticity!

*Ashby - don't waste your time or your DVR space
